A Libertarian President is desirable and possible. A Libertarian President will need:

1. 34 Libertarians in the Senate
2. A compass to guide the way (libertarianism)
3. A map to navigate the journey (The US Constitution)

We need 34 friends in the Senate because a Libertarian President would not last a month without them. Congress would pass unjust laws that he or she would not enforce, and then Congress would remove our President from office for failing to comply with their edicts. But with the 34, we would maintain the veto, stay in office, and what needs to be done shall be done.

A Libertarian President has the compass of libertarianism to guide their way. The compass shows us where people would be allowed to live as they choose, so long as they allow others to do the same. The compass points to where we may have peace: where people refrain from initiating or threatening force, or engaging in fraud against fellow human beings.

The US Constitution gives us a strong advantage. If we have a Libertarian President and 34 Libertarian Senators, we could enforce the Constitutional restraints on the government. No federal drug laws, personal income tax, Federal Reserve, Department of Education, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Homeland Security, Federal Election Commission, etc. You know, limited government, as originally intentioned by the founders!

That's the why I should be President. Now, the how I will be president.

I propose a two step program.

Step One: To have the ability to determine who wins elections.

Many political races are close. The pie chart on the right demonstrates the Democrat incumbent has an advantage, possibly due to gerrymandering.

With just a small nudge, if the Libertarian candidate receives 3% of the incumbent's vote, the Republican wins.

A way to take votes away from a major candidate is to use direct mail, seeking out the voters we wish to influence and make persuasive libertarian arguments that the major candidate dare not make. Remember we only need a small percentage to impact the election, but to achieve even this requires money.

With the ability to determine who will in many cases win elections, we will attract money from non-libertarians who want their candidate to win and other benefits such as providing a market for libertarians to develop skills in campaign management at a profit.

Step Two: Winning

To win we must have enough money to be completive and take advantage of the strategy of taking votes away from the major opponents in cooperation with others. The other minor party candidates need to have enough money to achieve their influence.

Republican 27%

Left-Wing i.e. Green 7%

Right-Wing i.e. Constitution 7%

A Libertarian Winner

The race for President is actually 50 different winner take all races. To get the biggest bang for the bucks, we could go for the states that are smallest in population. We can win the Presidency economically if we compete in enough of the correct smaller states to get 270 electoral votes.

To win the Senate seats we need we use the same strategy.

Where do we get the money? We need 36 rich people and more support than we have now. We attract this support by changing how we are perceived. We become winners.
